The new Liberal MPP in Windsor West plans to hit the ground running and Teresa Piruzza’s top priority is jobs.

Piruzza, until very recently employed at the City of Windsor as the executive director of employment and social services, reacted emotionally to her easy victory Thursday night telling the crowd, “this is just absolutely surreal.”

A tight race had been anticipated in Windsor-West between the Liberals and NDP candidate Helmi Charif but from the start of the night Piruzza held a respectable lead.  She captured 41.3% of the vote while Charif came away with 30.7%.

For Progressive Conservative hopeful, Todd Branch, the results are a bitter disappointment.  “I will run again when Hell freezes over, pigs fly and unicorns dance merrily between the stars.  I am not doing this again.”
