On the final day of the Ontario election campaign, Premier Dalton McGuinty is courting votes in Windsor with a tour of the Ford Centre for Manufacturing at St.Clair College.
The college is in the riding of Windsor-West where a tight race has developed between Liberal candidate Teresa Piruzza and New Democrat Helmi Charif but McGuinty told reporters after the tour he’s not concerned about a defeat in the riding formerly held by Economic Development and Trade Minister Sandra Pupatello. “I’ve got a lot of confidence in our candidates. All of them.” Also running in Windsor-West is Progressive Conservative candidate Todd Branch.
Piruzza also told reporters she feels good about her chances. “I still have to get back out and canvassing. We’ll keep working until 9 o’clock tomorow night but I’m feeling confident.”
On the tour with McGuinty and Piruzza, Liberal candidates Ken Schmidt and Dwight Duncan, and CAW National president Ken Lewenza.
