A local political science analyst thinks it’s only a matter of time before Ontario’s new minority Liberal government is defeated.
Lloyd Brown-John says coming off eight years of majority rule means they’ll be severely chastised . “The Liberals won’t be in a position to say ha-ha we showed you guys. They’ll be hanging on by their teeth. As history suggests there’s a high probability that they would be thrown out in another election in say a year or two down the road,” he said.
McGuinty’s Liberals won 53 seats in yesterday’s election, one short of the 54 needed.
However the popular vote was much closer — the Liberals got about 37% compared to 35% for the Tories.
