Windsor-Tecumseh Re-elects Duncan (video)

October 7th, 2011 . Blackburn News

Liberal MPP Dwight Duncan accepts his government’s mixed fortunes, a win, but a minority government win.  “I’m excited about the future and we will work with the other parties in the legislation to build the Ontario all of us believe in.”

Duncan collected 42.9% of the votes in Thursday’s election, easily winning re-election in Windsor-Tecumseh.  His closest competitor, New Democrat candidate Andrew McAvoy, came away with 32.7%.

Progressive Conservative candidate Robert de Verteuil was reflective about his loss.  “We’re definitely do an analysis but the local campaign followed the provincial results.  There’s only so much you can do locally because voters vote based on the provincial results.”  He came away with 20.8% of the votes.

Duncan says he’ll focus on the economy and job creation over the next four years.  “There’s no time to waste and I’m looking forward to getting back to work.”
