How To Escape From Reality

The average person spends over 4 years and three months of their life escaping from reality. That works out to about 13 hours a week and here’s how we do it:

  • Listening to music…2 hours, 47 minutes a week
  • Watching movies or TV… 2 hours, 37 minutes
  • Walking or exercising…1 hour, 58 minutes
  • Reading…1 hour, 35 minutes
  • Playing video games…1 hour, 29 minutes
  • Exploring new places, even if it’s just online…58 minutes
  • Meditating or doing yoga…51 minutes
  • Researching or thinking about vacations…44 minutes

I think sleeping is a great escape from reality. This is interesting, the study found that we’re most likely to daydream about being somewhere else at 1:56pm on Mondays. Wait? What? I think it happens more often than that ~ chrislukas
