8yr old Leads Police on “High-Speed” Chase

This kid either hates Black Friday shopping, or really loves driving.  Maybe both . . .

Next time your child has a tantrum in a store, remember this story.

An 8yr old girl was out shopping with her mom last Friday in Anderson, Indiana.  It’s not clear why, but at some point, she got mad waiting for mom to finish shopping! So she grabbed mom’s keys, ran away, out out to the parking lot, jumped in the driver’s seat of mom’s JEEP . . . and TOOK OFF.

Police were called and she ended up in a chase that hit speeds of up to 65 miles an hour.  We wouldn’t normally call that a “high-speed” chase, but it’s pretty fast for an 8yr old.

She refused to stop when they tried to pull her over, so they had to use several police cruisers to box her in and slow her down.

She made it about 15km before they finally stopped her.  But she didn’t put it in park, so the Jeep creeped into one of the cruisers.

The doors were locked, and she wouldn’t get out.  So they had to shatter a window to get to her.

Luckily her only injuries were some minor cuts from the glass.

We wonder if mom will be taking a few of those presents back to the store.
