Heartwarming Moment for Little Girl Missing Her Dad

This one will warm your heart…

On Friday night, a send-off was held for the “Koach All-Stars Cheerleading and Tumbling Team” in Ankeny, Iowa, before they left for a national competition.

Unbeknownst to the girls, all their dads had been practicing and rehearsing their OWN cheerleader routine.  So when the time came and the music started, all the dads went out and began to do tumbles and pyramids and everything you’d find in a cheerleading routine, all to the surprise of their little girls.

But a little girl named Mikayla enjoyed it perhaps a bit less than her team-mates. That’s because her dad was serving in the Middle East with the rest of his National Guard unit.

After the dads did their routine, team coach Ashley Bailey got on the microphone and said,  “For those that may not know, little Mikayla’s dad is deployed, so he could not be here today. So we wanted you to feel special and all of those dads are now your dad.” At which point,  each dad handed Mikayla an American flag and a big bouquet of flowers.

That alone was heart-warming. But then something magical happened.

Mikayla’s dad suddenly appeared on a giant video screen.

“Hey, Mikayla! I’m sorry I can’t be there with you, but I can’t wait to get home and see you!” he said in the recorded message.

At that, he heads off screen and as the camera turns to follow him, it shows her dad running off to join his unit.
At which point, music starts and dad and the entire unit performed a cheerleading routine of their own!

Turns out dad had been rehearsing a routine in the Middle East the whole time, even though he couldn’t be there in person.

The reaction says it all. Mikayla watches and smiles while her mom wipes away tears of joy.
