On Saturday, June 20th, Kelsea tweeted, “Just got a really really exciting phone call and have mascara all over my face and can’t believe how good God is. LIFE IS COOL.” She received Twitter congrats from Carrie Underwood, Brett Eldredge, Hillary Scott, Maddie & Tae and Danielle Bradbery.
Kelsea says getting a tattoo to commemorate the feat is part of her celebratory plan.
“It is. I actually have that planned, but moreso than that, it’s not just my first Number One, it’s the first Number One that Black River gets, and so it’s such a huge win for not just me as a new female artist but as a new independent label, and I think that that’s gonna make the celebration even more sweet so I’m sure we’re gonna have like an insane Number One party with lots of cake and balloons.”
Kelsea talks about the new ink.
“I got my mom and my dad to write ‘love’ and I’m gonna get it probably just somewhere where no one can see it.”
This will be Kelsea’s second tattoo. Her other one is visible on her forearm and it says “how sweet the sound,” quoting the lyrics from “Amazing Grace.”
