More Blake & Miranda Drama

A judge in Oklahoma has sealed the records in Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s speedy divorce, and according to reports, doing so may have violated Oklahoma state law. The Oklahoman reports that last year, state legislators passed a law that allows judges to seal civil, divorce and other court records that are normally public only if there is a compelling privacy-related reason that outweighs public interest. The judge must make the sealing order public, but in this case, he has not done that.

Former State Rep. Aaron Stiles, the author of the law, told the newspaper,

“There’s some shenanigans going on. Oh, yeah, they’re definitely not following the law on it. I can’t imagine a scenario where you would ever seal an entire civil or divorce case. The average citizen, they don’t get their cases sealed. Their records are made public. All it is is about protecting their buddies and cronyism. . . Somebody needs to put rogue judges in their place.”

Oklahoma City attorney Irven Box seconded that sentiment.

“I think it was a favor done . . . because of their celebrity status. I’m sure that every Oklahoman getting a divorce would like to have their records sealed . . . but they don’t.”

In other Miranda news, the singer was spotted out and about with friends in Nashville on Saturday, July 25th. The singer was enjoying margaritas at a popular restaurant and even posed for a few pics with fans.
