Carrie Underwood Hesitant To Make Jokes
Carrie Underwood returns to co-host the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 4th with Brad Paisley for the eighth time. Every year, viewers look forward to their funny segments that sometimes poke fun at their entertainer friends, but Carrie tells us she is always hesitant to go there.
“I’m definitely the feet dragger on a lot of jokes I think (laughs). If there’s ever anything that you’re like, ‘Did they just say that,’ like I promise you I was probably trying to get us not to say it, you know, so I think there’s ways to do things without going in for the kill, cause we don’t want that, you know? Like, we don’t . . . These are our friends and they’re people we have to work with afterwards and look at and run into, plus we’re not mean people and we don’t want to make people uncomfortable or upset about what’s going on in their lives. Like, these are people’s lives.”
The CMA Awards airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC.
In addition to co-hosting, Carrie will perform and is also nominated for Female Vocalist and Music Video of the Year for “Something In The Water.”
