Chris Janson Doesn’t Take Himself Too Seriously

Chris Janson prides himself on writing pretty light-hearted songs, many with a bit of humour sprinkled in. The singer says that completely represents the kind of artist — and guy — he is.

“I don’t take myself that seriously. I mean, you can’t. I mean, in life, man, like everytime I’ve tried to in my life it’s usually just been a trainwreck so I just have no ambitions with this thing other than just to have some fun, write some songs that I believed in, put them on the record and let’s go with it. I’m never gonna make an album methodically or have to think about it or take years and years to put the perfect piece of art together . . . none of that stuff, man. I’m just in this to have fun and make music and build a fan base like I’ve always done.”

Chris’ debut album, Buy Me A Boat, is in stores everywhere. Of course, it includes the chart-topping title track, the first Number One of Chris’ career.

He will join Blake Shelton on tour next year beginning in February.
