Keith Urban Exhibit Opens

Last night, Keith Urban celebrated the opening of his exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Before a private reception, Keith viewed the exhibition for the first time, stating that, “It was overwhelming and a bit like ‘This is Your Life.’” The display cases are full of personal items such as guitars, and childhood stage costumes, many donated by his mother. A couple of his favorites include a Telecaster he bought in 1999 on his first trip to Nashville, and a postcard he sent to his parents as a child.

Keith commented about the costumes he wore when he was a kid:

“My dad particularly always thought it was important that I dress like a performer, and so a lot of those outfits way down on the end were actually made by him. With the help of my mom a little bit, but particularly my dad. And a lot of these talent quests I went on, these country music talent quests…they often had categories best dressed male, best dressed female. And I often won best dressed male. Sometimes it was the only thing I won.”

Keith Urban So Far… will be open through May 15 of next year.
