Tim McGraw Loves His New Single

Tim McGraw’s latest album, Damn Country Music, has produced another hit with the poignant “Humble And Kind.” The song was written by Lori McKenna, a singer and songwriter that both Tim and his wife, Faith Hill, have championed over the years.

“Humble And Kind” is a song Tim’s been holding onto for a while, and he says this was the right time in his life to record it.

“It’s probably one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded. I’ve had that song for quite a while now and listened to it over and over and over again and tried to get my head around just how I would do it, and wasn’t quite sure that I would do it, but it was at the right time in my life — Gracie going off to school, my middle daughter’s gonna graduate from school this year, the kids are growing up. I felt like as an artist I had something to offer and something to say with that song. I felt I could put enough emotion into it and enough years into it to make it believable, make people understand that it was coming from me in a certain, so I tried it and it worked out.”

Even Oprah Winfrey responded to “Humble And Kind” tweeting, “Tim, I love this song. Every word feels true.” The video features powerful footage from Oprah’s OWN-TV series, Belief.
