CMAO Announces Nominees & Performers

The Country Music Association of Ontario just announced the nominees for the 2018 CMAOntario Awards, PLUS, they also announced who will be performing at this year’s show in London on June 3rd!

Ontario has seen an explosion of country talent in recent years and we’ll see many of them represented at this year’s awards.
Artists like the James Barker Band and Meghan Patrick (both of whom lead the way with 5 nominations each) will be honoured along with fellow modern country stars like Tim Hicks, Tebey, Cold Creek County, the Reklaws, Andrew Hyatt, Rivertown Saints and two artists coming to Windsor’s Country Chaps and Spurs Festival this year in  Genevieve Fisher and Eric Ethridge. They’ll all be joined by established Ontario performers like Michelle Wright,  Blue Rodeo and the Road Hammers. (The most famous of ’em all, Shania Twain, was not nominated this year.

Performing artists on the night of the awards announced so far include Michelle Wright,  Cold Creek County, Meghan Patrick, Jason McCoy, Tim Hicks and Tebey. Cordell Green, from Windsor’s Country Mornings, is among the award presenters.

A music video shot in Windsor by Windsor director Gavin Michael Booth, for the Tim Hicks hit, “Slide Over”, was nominated in the Music Video of the Year category!

The sixth annual CMAOntario Awards, presented by Slaight Music, with support from the Ontario Media Development Corporation, will be hosted by Jason McCoy on Sunday, June 3 at Centennial Hall in London. The awards acknowledge the talent and achievements of Ontario’s country music industry across 16 categories.
