Sam Hunt has released the video for his current hit single, “Downtown’s Dead.” The clip was shot outside of the U.S., which Sam says turned into a fun excursion.
“We were down in Mexico a couple hours north of Mexico City in a very rural part of the country in this really unique, cool little town that was sort of positioned around this old volcano, and it’s a beautiful country and really great people and a really authentic cultural experience for us. It was a lot of fun filming the video, but we really enjoyed the actual experience of going down there and it was kind of an excuse for me to . . . the destination video thing was an excuse for me to travel a little bit. I’ve had the travel bug over the past couple years so I enjoyed getting to see that part of Mexico and meeting some new people.”
“Downtown’s Dead” is the second release from Sam’s next studio album, although no release date has been announced.
