Randy Quaid and wife has fugitive charges dismissed
A Vermont judge has dismissed fugitive charges against actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi.
The 65 year old actor and his wife were arrested last week while trying to cross into the United States from Canada. They had lived in Canada since 2010, when Randy Quaid was charged with vandalism and unauthorized entry in Santa Barbara, California.
The couple denied the charges, claiming the property still belonged to them.
After they left the courthouse the Quaids said they will stay in Lincoln, Vermont, to care for Evi Quaid’s sick father and address the California charges.
Quaid was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, BAFTA Award and an Academy Award for his role in The Last Detail. Quaid also won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy Award for his portrayal of U.S. President Lyndon Johnson in LBJ: The Early Years. Quaid has also starred in the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, Brokeback Mountain, Independence Day and Kingpin.
