Katy Perry is top earning woman in music
Katy Perry has been named the highest-earning woman in music this year.
According to Forbes, Perry has made $135 million in the last 12 months, compared to Taylor’s Swift’s $80 million, who takes second place.
The 31 year old “Roar” singer had a huge worldwide tour and endorsements deals with beauty companies like Coty and CoverGirl this year.
Coming in third was Fleetwood Mac ($59.5 million) even though only two of its five current members are women. Stevie Nicks and Christine McVeigh are considered to be the key to that band’s success during their year-long tour, according to Forbes.
Lady Gaga was ranked fourth with $59 million and Beyonce, who topped the list last year, slipped to 5th place with an estimated $54.5 million.
