Kelsea Ballerini Has A “Moment”

Kelsea Ballerini got some big love from Music City earlier this week. The newcomer played her first headlining show at a club in Nashville and the singer was very moved by the sold-out crowd. She told Rolling Stone,

“I heard people sing ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ so loud that I put up my microphone on the second line into the song. I put my head down so I wouldn’t start bawling. I looked over to the side stage at everyone from my label and my management (team), and it was just this moment. . . Those are the moments that you work so hard for.”

Kelsea’s performance included a special appearance by hit duo Maddie & Tae. The three took on the Dixie Chicks’ “There’s Your Trouble.”

Also this week, Kelsea scored her first-ever award show nomination for the 2015 CMT Music Awards Breakthrough Video of the Year for her debut hit “Love Me Like You Mean It.” The show will air live from Nashville on CMT on June 10th at 8 pm. Fans can vote now at

Kelsea’s debut album, The First Time, will be released on May 18th. She continues on CMT’s Next Women of Country tour with co-headliner Jana Kramer. She will also join select dates on Lady Antebellum’s Wheels Up tour throughout the summer.
