JAMIE FOXX is defending his “interesting” take on the national anthem before the Mayweather / Pacquiao fight . . . and putting the blame on a technical error.

He told “Access Hollywood”, quote, “First of all, everybody calm down.  We had a little bit of a situation with our ear pieces.  The [ear] pack actually dropped off, so I couldn’t, you know . . . I can’t hear what’s playing.

“So I just had to go on my own.  Hopefully they understand.  It’s just the National Anthem.  I think a little bit was just people wanted to have something to talk about.  But everything’s cool.”

Then he joked, quote, “The national anthem will be on my album.  And I’m gonna do whatever the hell I want to it.”

FLOYD MAYWEATHER sent a text to ESPN saying he’d give MANNY PACQUIAO a rematch.  But Manny has to have surgery on his injured shoulder, and it could take up to a year to heal.  Meanwhile, Manny is facing two class-action lawsuits from irate fans who say he ripped people off, including pay-per-view buyers and gamblers, by not disclosing the injury before the fight.
