Carrie Underwood Frustrated With Post-Baby Body
Carrie Underwood is experiencing the frustration that so many moms do after giving birth to a baby. The superstar took to social media to share her feelings about her post-baby body.
She wrote:
“I’m going to be honest, ‘bouncing back’ after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately. I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again . . . for my body to feel the way that I know it can. As I was working out today, I realized that for the past 11(ish) months, my body has not belonged to me. It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk. I promise to stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal. I’m going to keep staying the path because it is a journey and as long as I’m always working towards my goals, one day I’ll reach them. I’m going to take it day by day, smile at the girl in the mirror, and work out because I love this body and all it has done and will continue to do!”
Carrie’s post and gym selfie drew lots of positive responses from fans and friends alike, including Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Hillary Scott, and Carly Pearce.
Being in tip-top shape has been something Carrie has always been focused on, both to look and feel good and be able to hit the stage night after night.
“I definitely do my part when it comes to my personal fitness. I want to be strong. It does take a lot to be on stage. I’m running around and singing, like those are, being active and singing at the same time is pretty difficult to do and it helps me in every aspect of my life. When I work out, I feel like I have a clearer head. I feel like I’m just ready for anything, and it feels good to make my body move like it was designed to do. So, I try my best to always stay healthy and fit, and then if there are any special things coming up, I do my best to get ready for them. I like to work out and I eat healthy. I think that’s just something that’s part of what I do. My body is my tool, I’ve got to keep it good .”
Carrie kicks off her Cry Pretty Tour 360 in May with special guests Maddie & Tae and Runaway June.
