Maren Morris On Writing ‘Girl’
Maren Morris had mixed feelings about releasing her latest hit, “Girl,” as a single from her sophomore album of the same name. She co-wrote the song, which Maren said left her feeling especially vulnerable.
“When I was writing that song I felt like . . . I felt very exposed but once I took a breath and accepted that I needed to get this out to move on and progress and finish the album it was very clear that it had single potential to me because I needed to keep saying it to myself and I thought, ‘If I need to hear this maybe a lot of other people do too right now.'”
Meanwhile, Maren’s Instagram page recently reached one million followers.
