Willie Nelson Interviewed By Sammy Hagar
There’s an episode of Sammy Hagar’s “Rock and Roll Road Trip” show on AXS-TV where he interviews Willie Nelson. It airs May 5th, but they’ve released a preview clip. It sounds like it’s going to be fun.
They’re sitting in Willie’s tour bus . . . which got Sammy wondering about all the pot smoking and partying that’s gone down in there through the years. So he asked if anyone’s ever been arrested in it.
Willie played along and said, quote,
“Oh, I’ve been arrested in everything I’ve owned, I’ll tell you that.”
That cracked Sammy up, but he still wanted more. He was thinking about “the old days” when the bus would go rolling through the south. And then Willie reminded him that he’s from Texas.
Sammy actually thought that would work to Willie’s advantage. Like, maybe they’d give him a “get out of jail free” card. Not so much. Willie said, quote,
“Oh yeah, they’ll give me a nice cell.”
