A Luke Bryan “Make A Wish” Kid Releases Song About Luke
Here’s a story of a wish that turned into a dream, thanks to Luke Bryan.
Four years ago, Luke Bryan met Ethan Payne, a 13yr old fan battling Cystic Fibrosis. He met him through the Make a Wish Foundation, backstage at a concert in Dallas. Ethan brought his guitar for Luke to sign and even impressed him with a cover of “Do I.”
Luke asked him if he’d like to play it front of the 50 thousand in attendance that night, which he did. At the end of that performance, Luke gave him his OWN guitar to keep. That experience inspired Ethan to pursue music seriously. Last year, Ethan auditioned for American Idol.
Unfortunately, he was eliminated from the group round of the competition, and Luke was the one to have to tell him.
But Ethan- now 17- still uses Luke’s guitar, saying he’s not gonna let his disease get in the way of fulfilling his dreams. Now, his relationship with Luke has come full circle. His new song is called… “Luke’s Guitar.”
