Eric Church Wrote 28 Songs In 28 Days
Eric Church challenged himself to write and record 28 songs in 28 days, and he did it.
Why? He wanted to put himself in a position that he had never been in before.
“What if we put a bunch of pressure on me as a writer and the players as players and we make this like they used to make rock ‘n’ roll records?”
The schedule was simple and tight. He would wake up, write, record, and repeat.
And don’t expect to hear those songs trickling out here and there.
“I believe it needs to be an album, it needs to be listened to as an album.”
Eric also posted a spoken word video about the pandemic. It starts with images of empty streets and stadiums as he says, “Where there were once roars, now there’s echoes.”
But he promises that this is only temporary because Americans will prevail. It ends it with a teaser of a new song called “Through My Ray Bans”.
