Darius Rucker is more than ready to return to his regular life of touring around the country.

Last year, he said he planned to take a much-needed break from the road in 2020 after a very successful tour with Hootie & The Blowfish, and the global pandemic certainly made that happen.

While Darius had the opportunity to play a drive-in concert back in July, he said it wasn’t the same as performing for packed venues.

“It was great to be out there playing music with my band but everyone was so separated, so spread out that there was no feedback. You could only see maybe the first couple rows of people, not even that many people. It was great and I would do it again but as far as the feedback and as far as the vibe of the show it was totally, totally different, and I’m dying to play. Yes, I did say I needed a break from touring and I did . . . okay, whoever was listening to that, the break is over. I’m ready to get back to work (laughs). Yeah, I’m dying to play. I’m dying to see on the schedule gigs. I’m ready to get back out there and start playing for people. I miss it so much!”

Darius recently released a new single called “Beers And Sunshine” and performed it at the Grand Ole Opry.
