Kacey Musgraves’ Next Album Will Be Like A Greek Tragedy
Kacey Musgraves’ next album will have 15 songs split evenly into three acts, and there’s a reason for that.
She wrote it after her divorce and was feeling like she had just been through a three-part Greek tragedy.
She tells “Crack” magazine, quote,
“Denial, anger, sadness, depression, bargaining, guilt . . . I’ve felt all of those things.”
She also realizes her fans may be a little surprised by it.
“My last album is what people know me for. They see me as this starry-eyed, rose-colored glasses kinda girl . . . the ‘Golden Hour’ girl. Well, here I come with a post-divorce album, bursting the bubble.”
But it’s not all doom and gloom.
“One thing that’s interesting to me is ‘what comes after golden hour. Nighttime.’ And so I’m in a nighttime period. And what’s cool about that is there will be light again.”
No word yet on a title or release date of the new album.
