Garth Brooks Wants His New Nashville Bar To Be Inclusive
Garth Brooks’ new honky-tonk bar called “Friends in Low Places” opens on Friday, November 24 in Nashville.
It was in the news this summer when he announced they would be serving Bud Light.
He did a big interview with Jane Pauley on CBS recently and talked about why making the place inclusive is important to him.
She asked what he’d say to people who wonder, “Is he with us, or with them?” His response…
“I’m with love. You [can] come on this ship or not, but love is big enough for all of us.”
He added that people think the hardest question in life is, “Why are we down here?” But he thinks it’s a pretty easy one.
“We’re down here for each other. That’s why there’s more than just one of us.”
She also had him explain the difference between a regular bar and a “honky-tonk.” He said a honky-tonk is bigger and a little more like a dance hall.
