Parker McCollum Says He’ll Never Write “Dad Songs”
Parker McCollum and his wife Hallie are set to be first-time parents, with a son due in August, and he’s got a little bet going with Luke Combs.
They golfed a few weeks back and were messing around on guitar when Luke played him a song he just teased last week called “The Man He Sees in Me”, about being a good Dad.
Luke told him once your first kid arrives, it’s hard NOT to write a million “Dad songs,” but Parker claimed it won’t be a problem for him.
“There’ll be some references to [my], but I don’t think I’ll do that. I don’t think it fits in what I do.”
But Luke told him…
“Call me in six months, and tell me how many Dad songs you’ve written.”
Parker says they’ve got an “ongoing bet” about it.
