CATHERINE DE SILVE nominated IRENE AGUIAR for the following reasons:
Irene is a nurse at Iler Lodge in Essex. All through the shutdown she has worked tirelessly to meet the needs of her patients and keep them safe and healthy. She worked so many overtime shifts I lost count. On top of working on the front lines in healthcare she would do the grocery/Costco shopping for her family members and close friends. She was always looking after those of us who could not get out because of compromised immune systems/cancer/age by checking to see if we needed something from the store. Her baking skills are legendary and she would always drop off banana bread or other goodies at our front doors and ring the bell. Her smile and loving heart is what helped make the shutdown bearable for her family, friends and patients. She is our HERO!!
