[WATCH] Reporter 🎥 Has Surprising Reaction After Being Hit By Car During A Liveshot
Tori Yorgey, a TV reporter got hit by a car while doing a live shot on the side of the road. She wasn’t injured, and even picked herself back up to continue the report. She even consoles the woman that hit her (this is the 2nd time she’s been hit by a car while reporting!)The station is in West Virginia. She gets side-swiped and gets right back up.
She’s also her own camera person at the location. This video was met with outrage by broadcast journalists who said it underscored the risks of sending reporters to cover stories on their own.
Technology has made it possible for reporters to broadcast live without a camera operator. However, this leaves the reporter exposed to incidents like this, being alone at night in seedy areas, and idiots in the background.
Its a practice known in the industry as using a “one-man band.” Local news is all about saving money , so this will likely never change.
